Dr. Dan Grandstaff

Dr. Dan Grandstaff, the president and founder, has over 25 years experience helping individuals, groups, and organizations grow, prosper, and work at their best. He has been an executive in both corporate and nonprofit settings, and has worked with over 500 companies and professionals as an advisor, business coach, and consultant. He has drawn from his behavioral health background and his business experience to design marketing, customer service, and employee development strategies that bring lasting results.

He is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. He is the creator of the Grandstaff Work Enhancement Profile (GWEP) and has more than 20 years experience using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) with individuals, teams, and organizations. He uses a variety of state-of-the-art computerized assessments, and is certified in the MBTI, the DISC family of assessments, TriMetrix, TotalView, the Denison Culture Survey and Denison Leadership 360, the Attribute Index, ASSESS, and is a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst.

Dr. Grandstaff developed the Natural Speaking coaching program and has helped hundreds of people improve their presentation and interpersonal skills, and use presentations to market their services. As an organizational consultant, he has facilitated hundreds of group meetings and has developed highly effective methods for helping teams function at their best. He is the author of the book Speaking As a Professional (W. W. Norton, 2004) and co-author with Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hansen, et. al., of Create the Business Breakthrough You Want: Secrets and Strategies from the World's Greatest Mentors.

He received his doctorate from the McCormick Graduate School with a focus in organizational development and change management. His research dealt with strategies for preventing leadership burnout. He received an M.S.W. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.Div. Degree from Princeton Seminary, both with emphases in counseling and human behavior.  He is a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute and also did postgraduate training in leadership development from the Center for Creative Leadership and the Graduate School of Corporate Coaching.

Dr. Grandstaff is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, Sales and Marketing Executives, the Association for Psychological Type, and the International Coaches Federation. He is a Mentor Coach in the Business Coach Certification Program at North Carolina State University. He teaches in the Communication Certificate Program at Duke University and speaks widely on relationship marketing and effective communication.
